Default Viewing video?

Please Login to Remove!

I received a video message to my phone via MMS, but when I open it, my blackberry thinks it's a picture message and doesn't show the video. If I forward it to my email address to watch on my computer, my phone sends it as if it's a picture.

How can I make it so I'm able to watch a video that gets sent to me? This isn't the first time it's happened as well. I've been sent a few videos and never been able to view them.

What is the format of the video you received? Not all video formats are viewable on BB. See here for supported video formats on your BB model.

However, I do not know why the forwarded email does not contain the video.

While the phone supports .wmv, it doesn't mean that it can play any .wmv file. If it was encoded with an unsupported codec or the framerate or resolution, etc, then it won't play it.

I have tried encoding some homemade videos as .wmv and have suffered the same problems as you.

It's all about HOW is was encoded. It matters more that the file name extension.

If you can get the video on to your PC, you can use Roxio in Desktop Manager to convert it to the right format for the device.

How do I convert video using Roxio - BlackBerryFAQ

Note, you can use newer versions of Desktop Manager even though that says v 4.2 SP2.
