At what point are you prompted for a password and what exactly does the message say?

It sounds like you're trying to install on a workplace PC which has a group policy in place.

If that's the case, then you need to have administrator privileges to install software.

Or, it sounds like there is a password on the BlackBerry that you don't know.

Te only time I've ever seen DM ask for a password is when a password protected BB is connected.

^^ That's what I'm thinking.

Do you know the password for your BlackBerry when the keyboard locks?

So you're trying to install Desktop Manager?

Is this a work PC or your personal PC? What you're describing means you don't have sufficient priviledges to install software on the PC.

Did you try to install DM using the 'BlackBerry Enterprise Server' option? Sounds like it might be asking you to authenticate to your desktop email system. (Exchange, Domino, or Groupwise.)

All it is asking for is a valid password under blackberrry administration service installation.
It shows name of the PC and name of user.

Are you sure you're trying to install BlackBerry Desktop Software?
What is the file name that you downloaded and are trying to install?

That's not Desktop Manager (and the Verizon tech should be fired).

You can download Desktop Manager from here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22

I'd recommend version 4.5 as 4.6 has had some buggy issues. Download the file to your PC (like the Desktop) and then double click the file to install it.
