Default Converting .JAD to .ALX/CoD - 10-07-2008, 03:25 PM

Hey folks,

Recently I have purchased a blackberry 8310 and have been looking for a nice theme to install. I've come across a few nice ones but they all seem to be in .jad format. My problem is that I don't have a data plan so I can't install OTA files. I was wondering if someone with the know-how could convert a couple of my .jad files into ones I can use through the Apploader?
Another note - when I try to install the file using the blackberry explorer, I get a "907 Invalid COD File not found" error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JP

If you have a SD card on your phone, copy the jad file into the SD card, then go to media and open the file from there, it should let you install it
Regards

I've tried that but I still get that "907" error. I've tried a few JAD-.ALX converters but they dont seem to work :( Also, will I get billed for kb/downloaded if I use the SD card method even if I don't have a data plan?

Unhappy jar 907 error - 10-16-2008, 10:35 PM

I have the same problem. I have a .jar file that I have converted and tried to load via the device manager and via the storage card..explore. I was unable to load the file even after conversion. I get the 907 error when I load it onto the storage card. Does anyone know why the jar file cannot convert and be loaded onto BB? Does it matter what java file I use i.e. J2se or JDK? I really would like to be able to load the jar file and use it.
