Good deal. Once you have finished downloading the file. Locate the file and double click on it to install it.

When it finishes installing, click on the link in post #3 of this thread and download the Handheld OS. Once that has finished downloading, locate the file and double click on it as well to install it. Once both are installed. I would probably reboot the PC and then check the About section of DM to see if it shows handheld software of version 4.5.

If so, continue following the directions provided in the link in post #3.

Uh OH!
I started the install and I have been asked to choose one of the following:

Modify
repair
remove v4.5

Which do I choose?

It found a version of 4.5 on your PC? Is this the one with Media Manager?

You didn't uninstall it, it seems. You don't have to, but since you want to start fresh. Click Remove and then run the installer afterward.

Ok,
I ran the program and opened the C drive folled to Reasearch in motion and viola there is no folder called Apploader.

The first time I did this today it was there but nt now. there for I cannot delete the vendor xml file.

So I connected my BB to the pc clcked DEskTop Manager and ........................ nothing all it did was sync my outlook stuff......

This seems like full circle to where I was earlier

Make sure you're going to the correct directory.

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Still showing blank in the Device Software tab of Desktop Manager?

If you go into Add/Remove Programs in the control panel, do you see the handheld software listed there?

Ok just to cover all bases.

You clicked on this link : https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...C9D4DB0C6BBE45

Downloaded the file, clicked on the downloaded file to install it?

EDIT** From that link you want to select BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8330 smartphone from the dropdown and select the first download link

When I clicked on the link you just posted it took me to a different set of choices than the one posted in the earliest part of this thread.

To be exact:
The original link only let me choose the version I was looking for whereas your link asks me the device I am using.

That is where the breakdown was.

From there you want to select BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8330 smartphone from the drop down and select next, then click on the first download link
