Default Wierd ABC symbol won't go away

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry users,
I have a pearl. In the top right corner of my screen, there is a ABC symbol that's covering my battery meter. I have done tech support with my carrier (verizon), and had the techs physically look at it. They cannot fix this odd glitch, and the phone is no longer under warranty. Has anyone had this problem?

Sometimes, if I go into a message, hit reply, and punch the caps lock on and off many times, it goes away for a short while, but it always returns.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It is the fix. And unfortunately, techs who don't specialize in BlackBerry devices (or who haven't used them), don't always know this stuff. That's why we're here
