I have the blackberry 8300 and wanted to know if there is a way to have a phone number blocked from calling me an texting me.

You would have to talk to your carrier about blocking the number; as far as I know it is not something that can be controlled by the phone itself.

If your carrier cannot help you, visit YouMail. You can tailor a specific response for those people you need to filter by setting up custom responses.
It is a free voice mail service and worth the visit if you cannot get help from your carrier...

You should look into an app called i, call manager. It wont help filter SMS (texts) but is INCREDIBLE for blocking unwanted phone calls.
