My curve keeps deleting my messages unexpectedly. I'll look into my message folder and it brings me to my email messages. Then i cant go back to my regular messages. My new messages start build onto this list. Another thing i loose like this is my call log. Its bad enough it couldn't read my memory card. Now its keeps deleting info on its own. What the heck is going on with blackberry? i thought they were one of the most advanced phones.

What is your free space? Options>status>file free.

You're out of storage space. Format your media card and if you've taken pictures, move them from the BB's memory over to the media card.

There isn't any need to format the media card.

no! still doing it. Those instructions are needlessly complicated. why is it doing this? i have a memory card. My peral never had these problems

What is your file free (Options > Status)?

Are you sure you're saving your media files on the memory card and not the device memory?

If you dont think memory is an issue now or are unwilling to do as the "complicated " instructions state then,

1: is this a new 8310?
2: did you add software and this started?
3: Did you upgrade the original software?

If new, return it
If you added software, try to delete it
If you upgraded. The OS may be corrupted, using the "JL" software on this site ( do a search ), totally replace the current software. The only issue you may have based on your response before , you will have to read and follow the instructions.

my file free keeps going from having alot to zero.. and my i have 2.5 gigs of songs on a memory card. The memory card was an 8 gig, but before my computer would read it, i had to formate it and it decreased to 3.8 gig. Before that i was having issues with the desktop manager reading the card, but blackberry was saving pictures to it just fine

Believe me, it's a lot easier to do the memory clear than replace the OS.

Yes it is. Memory on the card has absolutely nothing to do with memory on the BB, and it is a shortage of memory on the BB that is causing your problem.

If it's always going from a lot of free memory to zero quickly, then you probably aren't closing running apps properly and you absolutely need to take the advice and follow the "maximize your free memory" thread. It's really only complicated if you don't follow the instructions. My device is always around 46mb free since maximizing memory each time I load a new OS.

I don't think he is reading the suggestions here. Looks like the media card is all he's talking about and not realizing were talking about the BB's internal memory or that nasty stuff call directions
