Default BIS question for experienced BBer's

Please Login to Remove!

fellas and ladies, my question about the bis is: we have company issued bb's, i also have a personal (bold, becasue i'm a junky) work one is a curve, we cannot hook our personal berry up to the bes (well we could but will lose some functionality defined by IT) OWA is setup so i can put my corp email on my bold through the bis, so far so good... Why is gmail and yahoo pop email 10 minutes faster than my corp email through the bis?? It syncs my email (sent, deleted, read) all fine, does not push calender and the such but email is certainly functional. I don't expect it to be instant like my curve but why such a delay when the others don't??
Sorry if that's wordy but I was cooking, and drink when i cook.... Or is it cook when i drink??

The only emails that I know are fairly instant on BIS are gmail, yahoo, hotmail (BIS 2.5) and the carrier.blackberry.net address (instant).

Everything else is polled up to 15-minutes.

EDIT: This thread should help you out > How does BIS Poll for Email

Yeah, I was talking to tech support at my telco the other day and they mentioned something about BIS potentially delaying email messages from certain servers. The guy's words were "up to 15 mins" but i didn't dig in further (although probably should have). The configuration I was discussing was very similar to what you are describing.

Sorry, not a direct answer here but I guess confirmation that this may very well be normal. I am really curious to find the answer too.

It's not anything that you can change. You can opt to use the faster delivery methods or deal with it, basically.
