Default IPD file on computer

Please Login to Remove!

Alright, so I backed up my blackberry last night which resulted in the creation of an ipd file. However, I would like to view my contacts list on my computer. I've used programs such as Blackberry IPD editor by the process text group (I would post a link to it, but it's not letting me!!) It has been the only program that I've heard of that is able to directly parse IPD files so you can view it's contents, however when I open the IPD file with that program, none of my contacts show up!

Just wondering if my telephone service provider (MTS) could be the culprit. I know that some service providers disable certain features on some phones, and just wondering if it would be my service provider, or it was a problem with the program I'm using.

The IPD file is only 37.4 KB, and I find it hard to believe that all of my contacts, along with their information could even fit in a file that minuscule.

Thank-you for replies!

i had my berry do the same thing a few days ago. you need the software called ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter (Free download ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor, parse, convert, backup and archive IPD files to CHM, PDF, HTML, Word, Access, Excel, CSV, IPD Extractor)

btw, you gotta SEARCH too. i did "open IPD backup" and got this first or second link.

I've used that program, and I've searched forever!

Anyways, when I opened it up with that program, and I exported it there were no contacts :S

It's as if my contacts weren't backed up for some reason!

But thanks for the reply!

look for any ipd file on your computer... the loader backup might not have everything on there depending on how you have it set up

Sorry for double post, but no, my problem still isn't solved. Like I said, my main question was, would a service provider potentially disable the feature to back up your contacts (for whatever reason)?

I've only backed up once so far, and that was because I was leaving my job, so I gave my blackberry back, but now I can't get to my contacts

There was only one IPD file created when I backed up.

nope. the ipd is set up by YOU or your BES(if on a BES). it is all set up with DTM. this is in no way affected by your carrier
