Good evening all, I took delivery today of a Blackberry 8820. I registered it with Orange, and then started set up.Wizard appeared for setting Lanuage, I chose, I thought, English U.k,and clicked on it, it appeared in a Foreign Language, Chech, I think. Cannot now get the wizard or anything I understand. Can get Menu Icons but I think that they look different to what I have seen with a friend. I have spent well over an hour on phone with Orange, and 5 different people spoke to me, but they could not help in any way. Has anyone the answer to my problem, please.

Can you figure out how to get to Options >Security Options >hit menu key and select Wipe Handheld? I've never tried but I'm guessing it will default back to English.

If you can find your way into Options, Security Options is the 13th item down from the top.

After selecting Security Options, General Settings is the first item in the sub menu.

After selecting General Settings, hit the menu key. Wipe Handheld is the fourth item down in the sub menu.

Wouldn't choosing Language in Options work? I've never tried it and I'm not about to, but curious if that would be simpler than wiping the device.

Thank you for the replies. I am not able to get options, or see anything like it. Everything is in a foreign language. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. I have also found that it does not charge the battery.I have plugged it into mains wall socket, and tried it on USB cable. Underneath charging bars on top left of screen,I see a white battery shape, I think !!!
This has remained white although battery has been charged for hours.Is this the battery 'charging' indicator. Have thought of asking Orange to accept this back, as I only had it yesterday, and ask for a new one.

Since it's only a day or so old you can take it back and ask them to help you. Or you might be able to re-load the OS on the BB if you can connect it to a PC.
