Desktop Mgr wants to switch to same pin!
I spent some time reading the threads here but couldn't find what I was looking for, so here goes:
I have a blackberry bold (BES and BIS activated, V184.108.40.206 (platform 220.127.116.11, crypto v18.104.22.168A)) that I recently installed on my laptop (lenovo T60) together with the new desktop mgr downloaded from rim v22.214.171.124)
desktop mgr works fine, syncs, roxio is slow but okay, but:
every single time I connect the bold to the laptop, after it prompts for the password is says:
your messaging account is currently configured to use device with pin 2558**** would you like to switch to the connected device with pin 2558****
?! It says the exact same pin ?! At first I clicked on yes, the result was I couldn't send mails anymore, but did receive all mails sent to me.
After reactivating the blackberry I connected it again and clicked 'no', all functionality seems okay but still it bugs me...
Interesting thing is that at the bottom of the desktop mgr screen you see connected and active pin... it still shows the same pin...
Is this the first time you installed Desktop Manager on the laptop and synched with the Bold? Or have you used a different BB/Desktop Manager installation on that PC?
No, have used different versions of Desktop mgr, came from 4.1
must be a blackberry thing I fear...
I also used a 8820 on it with desktop mgr 4.1, then switched to the 9000by running the cd installation. I did not do a switch device wizard, because of the BES and BIS activation and a lot of other apps like RSA SecurID and others.
Hmmm, if everything you need is on the Bold, I would recommend uninstalling DM, and making sure all traces of app gone. Then clean install.
Not sure what could be causing this, so my "help" is a bit of a stab in the dark, but just to blow away legacy issues, personally I would try a totally clean DM install first...
