Is your Blackberry plugged into your computer?

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

Was that email from the BlackBerry Connection? If so everyone got that email.

Go to this link:
HowTo: Upgrade your BlackBerry OS | BlackBerryInsight

pick your provider "Telus" and it will list the latest available OS version.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

If you go to the link and hit "Telus" and pick your device 8130, 4.5 is not a download option so the release might have been pulled, or a false alarm.

Sorry, I hope I didn't offend...you would be amazed at how often the simplest troubleshooting step gets overlooked (including by yours truly).

2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.
