I don't know as I do not use that function. It is easy to test this stuff. Just to be sure I told you the correct info I created an item on my wife's calendar and hit "sync now then I editted it on my bb- then I hit "sync now"- then I deleted it and hit "sync now". I checked the status of that appointment each time by pressing "refresh" on the Google calendar and checking both of our calendars. By doing that you can see what works and what does not quickly without waiting for the sync on BB or Google.

One thing- you cannot create an event on her calendar or any calendar other than your default. People can see that event on their calendar by allowing you access but the event resides on only your default calendar.

Here's a question.....

I was getting duplicate entries from the google sync - fixed after I changed my default calendar to my att.blackberry.net address. Here's my 2 part question.

1. if someone invites me using one of my BIS addresses and I accept, will that sync to the google calendar
2. if I add an event on the calendar using one of my BIS addresses (top of new entry) will that sync to google

Just trying to get a granular understanding on google calendar sync.

Alright, I've downloaded and installed google sync three times now. I kept taking it off and reinstalling because I'm getting the error 'Another sync client has been adding events to the BlackBerry calendar. To avoid duplicates Google Sync will not keep these events up to date. I try syncing my blackberry and everything goes through, but it will not update new events I have entered into my blackberry to my google cal or my Outlook cal. My desktop manager is turned off from synchronizing my calendar/contacts.

I'm not sure how to get rid of this error, and think the bug may be due to running 4.5 on my phone. Here's a link to google mobile help site discussing some google sync running with 4.5 problems. (sorry for the xxx, but I don't have enough posts yet) xxx.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=53169bbea3946c94&hl=en 'SYNC ANNOUNCEMENT: BlackBerry OS 4.5 users please disable contact sync - Google Mobile Help'

I really want this app to work, but it seems they're still having quite a few problems.

Reinstalled it today and am still getting the Another sync client has been adding events to the BlackBerry calendar. To avoid duplicates Google Sync will not keep these events up to date. error. Updates to my bb calendar do not update either of my google calendar or outlook calendar. Hmmmm....

Default Another sync client has been adding events to the Blackberry calendar. To avoid...

If you google the error message "Another sync client has been adding events to the Blackberry calendar. To avoid duplicates Google Sync...", you'll find at least two google forum threads and a Google Mobile Blog with 120+ comments about this and other errors. (Would provide links, but I don't have enough previous posts.)

Apparently, "beta" really means "beta" this time.

Btw, I'm having that error as well, so if someone finds a solution, please post the answer here. Thx!

I removed the email account, then deleted sync. Added the email account back then added sync. So far I haven't seen the "Another sync client..." message.

I have a few issues with Google Sync too.

My business contacts on my phone (no first or last name) changes after syncing. The email address for that business gets copied to the first name field. Any idea how to change this? Other than that the contact side is fine.

As far as the calendar goes. It only syncs new entries. So the entries previously made stays on the device/website it was made on. The birthdays (allday event) shows up on Google Calendar as from 2am to 2am the next morning. Is there a way of sorting these 2 (3 including the contacts) out?

As far as I can think now that is the only problems I've had with it. But I won't try it again before I can't sort these 3 issues out. My calendar and contacts has to be perfect otherwise it bothers me. Hehe.

Thanks guys.

ok maybe you can help me. for some reason, i now have 2 calendars on my BB (default and sbcglobal.net). when i sync from BB with google, any events under my sbcglobal.net are not syncing to google on my default events. how do i get them BOTH to sync with google? or how do i switch an event from one to another? this is driving me crazy.

also, which do you prefer is the best backup system, google or yahoo. for some reason my outlook is not working (or else i would prefer it). PLEASE HELP.

You can try here:
Google Mobile - Google Mobile Help

As there are many threads about syncing two calendars. I just have the one.

With each email address you get a calendar in the Blackberry and can assign appointments to it. Why? I haven't a clue nor do I use them. You can delete the service books or just ignore them which is what I do.

Google will sync with your gmail or hosted google email account on the blackberry. I make my google hosted account the blackberry default calendar Options, Advanced Options, Defaults Services.

I like Google and have all my contacts and calendar on Google. For tasks and notes I use rexwireless. So, there really isn't a need for me to backup my BB using desktop manager. I don't know how well yahoo or msn work with the BB but google is the only one that I know of that syncs you contacts and calendar without having to to anything.

Default Google Calendar Sync

I am having an issue with Google Calendar Sync. I know it doesn't sync existing appointments, only ones created after installing Google synch. I am trying to figure out the best way to get my existing off my BB on the Google Calendar. So i saved them in .CSV format and downloaded them into Google cal which was a success. Now the problem is when I sync, it put dups on my BB. Since Google sees this as just being added it syncs and created duplicates on the BB. Any work around for this? Should I wipe my BB cal, and sync it to google? Also, should I changed my default calendar on my bb from GMAIL to att.blackberry.net?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
