Default number 2 key doesn't work

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there, i'm new to all this so please be patient with me. I recently bought a 8100 from ebay and it had the message 'handhels is locked' on it and after reading a thread on the internet telling me to enter the code incorrectly 10 times i did so. now it is asking me to enter 'blackberry'.... the problem is the number 2 key with 'y' on it isn't working. any clues as to how i can rectify this?

If you are feeling brave, you could take out the keypad and clean it good, or replace it (diassambly link for the 8100 is below).

Hi thanks for response. I tried this to begin with but it didn't work i think it might be the silver pad thats attached to the mother board. Is it possible to replace this do you think? or is it a phone shop job?
