How to sync Lotus Notes Calender using Desktop manager

Hi,
I am a new 8120 owner, and am very pleased with it, except for....
I want to sync my work Lotus Notes Calender (v6.5) with my personal Blackberry using a wired connection. So I am trying Blackberry Desktop Manager. However, it hangs on 'Reading from Lotus Notes Calender' even if left for an hour or so. I have set it up to sync 7 days in the past to 30 days in the future.
I was able to do this on a shoddy Nokia using their PC suite, so surely it is possible on a Blackberry?
Any suggestions please? Could I use google sync or something instead?
I have been syncing my personal BB with Lotus Notes this way for a while and have this problem occasionally. I've had to uninstall the BB Desktop Manager -> Reboot -> Reinstall -> Reboot again. This usually solves the problem for me. Not sure why it happens.
Desktop Manager 4.3 (and higher) is required to sync with Notes 8 (Version 4.2.2 and lower will not sync with Notes 8)
I am thinking Desktop Manager 4.7 might not support Notes 6.5, you might want to try 4.3.. I haven't found any documentation supporting that yet, but it might be worth a try.

Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.
Hi, I tried v4.3. I think it was working, but after 30 mins it had read 4000/~5000 entries in my calender in Lotus Notes (even though I had set it to read only 60 days in the future, so I would expect no more than 200 entries to get sync'ed) so I stopped it - as I can't believe it should take this long each time I want to snyc my calender!
I also tried v4.7 again, I presume this is doing the same (although it doesn't show how many entries it is reading).
So I am back to square one. The companion link add in does work, but is not free and now my free trial has expired!
When you sync your BlackBerry it will scan your Lotus Notes Calendar then scan your Device calendar and make the the changes you have set, I would go back to 4.3
You do have 5000 entries, it shouldn't take 30 minutes but I wouldn't expect it to take30 seconds either.

Ok. I've gone back to v4.3, at least this works. I have also deleted a load of old calendar entries, so now it takes about 10 mins to sync. Still too slow, but workable! Thanks for the advice.
