Default SQL stopped on BES, will not restart yet the Blackberries still work. How?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,
We had a backup process hang early this morning after stopping the MSSQLService. At which time we realized that the SQL service failed to start up again. We have tried to restart the service but it still fails. It seems to be minimal impact to our Blackberries, weird!
My questions are what impact will this have on our Berries and DB once we get the service started?
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get it started other than a full reboot of the server?
Also, emails, the Blackberry browser and calendar syncing all seem to happen flawlessly still, what should be impacted right now?

The only thing that does not seem to be syncing properly is the addressbook.....
Please help.
Thanks,
Graham

Default

Final note. Rebooted server. BES and SQL came back up OK. Addresses duplicated in my Outlook contacts seems to be the only issue. I checked a few other contacts from other blackberry users and they did not double. I assume that is because they did not enter any new ones on their berry during the SQL downtime. Either way all looks good. This thread is closed.
