I just downloaded Google map onto my Bold 48 hours ago and have noticed a large battery drain.How can I prevent this?What am I doing wrong?Can I close the map etc. to prevent the drain? Thanks....

From within Google Maps you should hit the menu key and select "Exit." If you just hit the escape key, the app keeps running and using GPS and/or cell tower triangulation.

thanks,but I do hit menu and escape.The Bold also feels warm when not in use.

I let battery discharge,fully recharged now,battery charge seems ok now-although i have not used phone today at least it is not discharging....

Hmm... this is unfortunately true.. but I guess RIM should think about the design of their J2ME applications. It definitely needs to have some kind of garbage collection mechanism which does clear the memory even if the app is "escaped" and not "exited".
