Hi, I am back to ask advice. I have a new 8820, which I paired up to a Nokia Car Kit, whereas the phone works correctly, I have a problem.
The phone rings in the car with the Ringtone of my choice, but there is another noise that sounds very much like the Vibrate alert. Can only find
mention of this in Profiles, where I can see that one can change it from 1 to 3vibrates, but not switch it off. Any help would be appreciated.

In that same location you should be able to change "Vibrate+Tone" to just "Tone."

Thank you for that John, but I have checked and it is on Tone only on both pages listing my email addresses, and on the phone page as well.

Are you sure you're editing the "active" profile?

I open the Phone only Active, scroll down to 2 different email addresses and to Phone, and change the boxes. I do not know if this is the correct one.

Is the phone actually vibrating? You said it "sounds" like a vibrate.

I dont think so, but not sure about that ,I leave it in my coat pocket whilst in the car - not wearing it, but I shall check tomorrow. I also had a feeling that the vibrate type noise only came from the car speaker, and that it was not on phone, shall check on that as well.

Maybe it's just the "GSM buzz."

All GSM phones make a buzzing noise when close to any kind of speakers. Not much you can do about it except for maybe move the phone away from the speakers or just reposition it.

I do know what you mean, but it is not like that, and is best described as a vibrate noise or a notifier noise.
