Default Help need with curve 8310

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, brand new to the blackberry group having just got a Curve 8310. Have been using touch screen T Mobile MDA and O2 orbit XDA for years so taking me some time to get use to it. Have a couple of questions that I would really appreciate some help with.

1) On maps I can only get diagonal lines. I have down loaded the latest version of maps from the Blackberry site and my mobile network connection is on.
2) I would like to extend the ringing time for incoming calls. At present the phone vibrates twice and then rings for less than 10 seconds and thats it.

Have looked though the instructions and the help and have got stuck, any ideas or comments will be gratefully received. Thank you.

1. Do you have a data plan? the maps are not stored on your phone. Checkout the GPS Forum

2. FAQ for audio profile

That won't help. Call the carrier or use the *61 feature code (search here or Google for details).

Yes it will. The phone comes pre-set to vibrate then ring he needs to change the profile setting to tone only!

OP is trying to extend ring time. Your solution will not work.

Edit: Perhaps he will pick up a second or two... perhaps... but I don't think this will result in the kind of ring time extension the OP is after.

I'm thinking the OP is saying that it only vibrates/rings for 10 seconds before going to vm. That can't be controlled in profiles.

I don't know maybe Iam reading his mind wrong or something I just assumed he wanted just the ringing without the vibrate inturn that will give you a longer ring time. But he has not been back to clarify...

Cant he just go into his Profile and go to advanced and adjust the current profile or just create a new one adjusting the amount of rings??
