Default Why doesn't caller name appear on phone?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I just started to use youmail for my voicemails. I really like how it knows the name of the caller and displays it on the call log on the website. Any way to get my 8220 Pearl flip to do that through some software or something? I just left Sprint to T-Mobile because I was tired of going over 450 atm (T-Mobile gave me 1000 atm for same price). I'm trying to avoid keying in the names and data. Also, can I enter the personal contact data of my friends through the computer and then have it sent to the phone through usb? Thanks

Are the numbers in your phone entered with the area code? xxx-xxx-xxxx? If not, you need to add the area code. That should fix the problem.

Also make sure you do not content protection including your address book. (Options -> Security and you will see an option for Content Protection and under that Include Address Book)

You enter the contact information threw Outlook/Outlook Express/Yahoo Email and then sync it with the Desktop Manager.

Thanks steveo86. I think I have outlook at work. I'll check tomorrow. The only problem is that my work is anal about installation priveleges and I don't think desktop manager will install their. Any other free apps other than outlook that I can try at home with no ms office? Hotmail?

Also, heavy fluid, I am entering area codes but I don't think that is the problem. I am trying to get a name to appear on the phone whenever a person calls me no matter if I know them like I get in my youmail account. Maybe that service isn't available on Blackberry? I did check those settings and they are disabled.

You can always try and export your contact lists to a .csv file and email it to your home computer there you can installed the desktop manager and if you have Outlook or Outlook Express (which is free in Windows XP and earlier) you can import that .csv file and then sync it.

To export go to File -> Import/Export and then export your contacts folders. (From inside Outlook)
