Question Disappearing address book on Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

My address book keeps disappearing on my Blackberry! We have a corporate BES server and Exchange server. We use wireless sync for everything except e-mail reconciliation. Yesterday, I noticed that my Blackberry's address book was empty, but my Outlook address book still had all its contacts. Our IT department reactivated my Blackberry, which fixed my address book problem. A few hours later, my addresses were gone again!

This time I deleted all my contacts in Outlook and copied them back in. They reappeared on my Blackberry, but within 30 minutes, were gone again.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Thanks,
PB

Tell your IT dept. to fix it. Its a problem with the MAPI subsystem.
If they are using Exchange 2003, probably a memory leak.

They can search for ERR_RESOURCE_ALLOC in the Event viewer application log.

Or -
BlackBerry KB-03957: Support - Address Book is wirelessly erased from the BlackBerry handheld

Either way your IT dept has to fix this.

This issue may possibly be due to a memory leak on the exchange server or the BES. Don't remember which one. I know this is going to be difficult for you to convince your admin to do but ask him/her to reboot the BES server. Wait until off hours if necessary.

Then see if your addresses on your handheld are still disappearing.

Also, how many #'s, addresses and email addy do you get per contact in your blackberry? I got of each 5 on my sidekick II (soon to be former SKII).
