Default finding items on a memory card

Please Login to Remove!

I loaded a 4 gb card with jpeg pics , movies(wma), word docs, excel , powerpoint shows and played with my moms new bbstorm tonight. When opening docs it found the PP and after some time it found the excel but no word docs? I couldn't get it to find the pics or mp3s either. I went under the contacts and my name and wanted to search the card to change the ringtone to my mp3 from the card and I couldn't find a way to get it uploaded. Help ! : :geek:

Does the phone have to format the card to find the files? Does it have to create a directory of folders to locate items?

Open the Media App and hit the menu key and choose explore.

The BlackBerry sets a file structure.

SDCard\BlackBerry\documents
SDCard\BlackBerry\music
SDCard\BlackBerry\voicenotes
SDCard\BlackBerry\ringtones
SDCard\BlackBerry\videos

and so on.

Docs To Go is on the Storm to see the spread sheets/PP/Word Docs?

(The Storm does come with Documents To RIght? I didn't mess with the Storm long enought to find that out.)

yes it came with docs to go.

so if I want to load my card up I should create some folders and stick items in them accordingly or do I have to format the card for the first time to create these folders.
so just make a folder that says music, one with ringtones, etc?

documents
SDCard\BlackBerry\music
SDCard\BlackBerry\voicenotes
SDCard\BlackBerry\ringtones
SDCard\BlackBerry\videos
