Default do blackberries come with a data cable for downloading apps?

I'm going to get a blackberry, but won't be able to download stuff over the wireless.
Do they come with a data cable for connection to a pc?

If only some, which models?

I am pretty sure that all new models come with a mini usb cable for syncing and charging. I do not know how else you would set one up without the cable anyway.

all of them do. the 7100 and maybe some of the other new ones come with 2, in case you lose one

All blackberry's come with 2 USB cables, one for the computer, the other for the charger. The charger is a three piece unit, contains different pin sets for the major continents, and the USB cable just plugs into the trasnformer.

Keep in mind, even though there is one cable for the computer and one for the charger, that the cable for the computer acts as a charger as well.

The 5810, 6710 and 7700 series have cradles, as opposed to mini-USB cables, for charging, syncing and loading applications. The 6510, 7100, 7200 and 7500 series have a mini-USB cable (two should come in the box) for charging, data syncing and application downloading.

Which mobile's data cable is compatible to 6710 and 7700 series' ?

they are cradles, so only the cradle would be compatible. they plugin via serial port. unless someone has come up with alternative cable converter.

Thx for replay. If we know the datasheet of interface at BB end, someone can diy a data cable. Who know?

haobo... DIY isn't needed since you can just use a cheap $4.99 MiniUSB cable. Even my Olympus Stylus digital camera USB cable works with the BlackBerry!

These cables are REALLY cheap and has a STANDARD CONNECTOR.... (BlackBerry has the same connector as many models of digital cameras, MP3 players, etc)

No need for custom cables...

Oh right, the old 67XX and 77XX series that haobo was referring to. Yes, the older models require the custom conectors, which are trickier...
