Call them again and make sure they properly added the BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN.
If they say they did... tell them to triple check.

I agree that it is most likely Nextel's issue, not something you did or didn't do.

I just called them and still no joy.
they wouldnt have been able to "walk me thru it" if I didnt have it LOL
I have it all but I just cant remember how to reset it. I had to pop the baterie out flip up the sim card and push a few buttons or something like that. I just dot remember in what order.

I'll bet you 8 million dollars that they didn't add the BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN correctly to your account. No amount of resetting, battery changing, SIM card removal, or button clicking is going to help.
You need to get someone on the phone at Nextel who knows what the hell they are talking about and have them add the proper plan to your account.
They probably just added a normal data plan, and not a BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN.

NXTl means that you didn't register on RIMs network.
99 out of 100 times, this is due to your account not being provisioned with the correct data plan.

ok, but I have had it for months now and when he had me do the reset thing i got a "L" at the end 3 days ago and have had it ever since. Untill last night when i deleted a program that I no longer needed. I have the data stuff but it just aint workin for some reason. The bone head on the phone dosent know where the search button is, Im sure of it....heck he may not even know where teh "any key" is.

ok,
just got off the horn with a persone at Nextel that actually knows what she was talking about.
When doing a "master radio reset" you have to be on the phone with them so they can make a change on their end while doing it, or it wont work at all. last night i did all the steps she told me to do and "no joy" I just did the steps with her and "lots-O-joy"

I've never had to be on the phone w/ them. The typical walkthrough involves a master radio reset, as well as registering the Host Routing Tables.

I've done this a few times w/o calling Nextel.
