Default Texts and missed calls erased before I can see them

Please Login to Remove!

I've got an 8100 curve and for the last few months, on and off, I've been having trouble with it. I can send and receive emails fine, but oftentimes when people send me text messages they are deleted before I can even see them (i.e. I see the little orange message pop up, then the hourglass appears and the message is erased before I can look at it). Similarly, if I have a missed call it will say "1 missed call" but when I click to view the caller, it shows an empty call log. I use at&t, if that makes a difference. Any advice is appreciated, as I during the next few weeks I am at a point in my life where I need to be in constant contact with a number of people. Thanks!

Sounds like a memory leak.

Have you pulled the battery lately?

Low, low, memory will do that. The device purges texts, messages, and phone call logs to reclaim memory when it gets too low. There are ways to avoid that, though.

You're definitely low on device memory. A battery pull will provide temporary relief if it's a memory leak but it won't address the issue (leaky app or OS). You'll need to determine what's causing the leak and take care of that as well.

If, however, your device memory is full of media files (photos/ringtones/music/videos) then you need to get a media card and transfer all files to the media card to free up device memory.
