Default BBM conversations delete automatically

Please Login to Remove!

My conversations on blackberry messenger keep deleting automatically several times a day, however my SMS or emails do NOT get deleted. Is this still a memory issue then?

Thanks.

Do you End Conversation?

Next question, do your contacts use End Conversation?

If you or the other person ends the conversation, you both lose your BBM dialogs.

Sounds like the device is out of memory. Check it with Alt+Cap+H. I recommend you remove any apps that you don't use, and move any user-created media to a microSD memory card.

No neither me or the other person uses End Concersation. I just checked the 'File Free' and it has 2199642 bytes. Is that too low? If it is does that mean I need to get a memory stick higher than 1 GB? Thanks.

2199642 is really low. Do you have a lot of apps, music, etc stored on the device and in internal memory?

The SD card has nothing to do with internal memory. You can move ringtones, pics and music from internal memory to the card and that will free up some, however. Apps cannot run from the SD card though.

It is not a memory thing. My bbm just started doing that today. And earlier there was an indication of some sort telling me something and stupid me, I didn't even bother to read it and just clicked OK.
So I think it was something you did that you might not have known.
If someone out there knows how to fix it, please help... =/

I have seen this recently on two T-mobile BlackBerry Smartphones. Both devices have plenty of memory free so I don't know what is going on.

Specifically, I've seen where only recent IMs sent are in the message list but the messages received in response to those sent are all there. Weird.

I have another report of a Sprint BlackBerry doing this. The device has plenty of memory free. BB IM conversations close for some reason. I've verified that neither party ended the conversation. Any ideas, anyone?

as i know, OS BlackBerry need time to reduce memory to normal after you close every application, my suggest if you are frequently using BlackBerry with a lot application open. Please frequenltly do pull the battery off ( hard reset ).

Mine was doing this because I had somehow chosen to have my BBM conversations show in message list. When I switched and said no to that (under BBM options), my conversations no longer delete automatically. HTH.

Default i had the same problem

I had the same problem and I read this thread and tried everything that everyone suggested and it didn't work. So I called AT&T and they couldn't figure it out so I called RIM and they couldn't figure it out either. Then I remembered that this problem started when I downloaded and started using a new theme. So I decided to delete the theme just to see if that was the problem and it was. My recommendation is to stick with the preloaded themes. Hope this helps.

try deleting the device databases, and deleting the service books for your bbm. do a hard reset(pull the battery out while it is on) and then let the battery sit for a bit... power it back on and it should take care of it... you may need to reload the bbm software from the app loader in desktop manager software as well. try the first two then the later... let us know how it goes.
