Default The protocol specified is not supported

Please Login to Remove!

Hello , I'm using a BB8820 so I can read my Domino/Lotus mail trough a BES ( v4.1.6 )

When I open a mail with an (excel) attachment and I try to open the attachment ; the following message appears :
"The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL"

There's nothing wrong with the attached (excel) file , I can open it in my Lotus Notes mailprogram. The problem occurs only on my BB.

Same thing happens with pdf , word , ...

Can anybody help me out ? thanks !

I have the same issue, similar environment (Domino 8.5 Server on Win2k3 w/ SQL 2005 Express)

Attachments open fine in Notes Client, .xls, .doc, .pdf all fail to open on BBerry.

It tries to open the BlackBerry Browser to open the attachment, to which it says "The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL"

This only happens when trying to open the attachment from within the BODY of the message (it shows a little PDF/Excel/Word thumbnail with the filename)

If I scroll up to just below the date, where it says "1 attachment" I am able to view these files on my bberry.

Most users want to click on the attachment from within the body... is there a way around this little issue?

I've had the same issue when receiving attachments through my regular email/BIS. You have to click on the attachment itself in order for the DocsToGo application to open it.
