Hey, my father has handed me down his old Blackberry, I have two queries...

1. The words under the date say "data connection refu..."

what is this about?

2. I've put my old vodafone sim into the phone, everything is working fine except none of the mobile phone contacts have imported themselves over to this phone? I've tried "import sim card contacts" with the wizard, it confirms there are numbers to be found and a progress bar completes importing but no luck?

1. This means you have no BlackBerry Data Plan.

2. Not all sim card contact lists are compatible with being able to import into a BlackBerry. The BlackBerry uses a much more sophisticated Contact List than what is contained on a sim card.
