Hi all,

I just discovered a pretty software that is particularly addictive: BBNews. It allows you to receive news items in realtime with a push technology, just like you receive your mails on your BlackBerry.

It seems the service is free for a trial period. You can subscribe to a large number of news feeds in an integrated catalog. I found it here :
Download page

Hope this news will interest a lot of you.

Yann.

http://bbnews.blacktouch.com/1.0.2/BBNews_1.0.2.zip from your PC, or http://bbnews.blacktouch.com/BBNews.jad from your Blackberry.

Man, this software is really addictive !

.... and deleted it. As I figured it will NOT connect to my CDMA Telus BB, just like every other 3rd party software out there.

Yan,
What do you mean by push technology - do you mean that their servers will actually initiate the data transfer?
2nd, is there a way from the program itself to go to to the page link itself. this feature seems to be missing at least from the trial version.
Other than the push technology, if indeed it's there, this program seems to be missing many features available in other programs, for instanceNeewsclip, but maybe I'm missing some features in the trial. The site itself isn't very informative, maybe there's a better French language site for it.

BBNews sucks plainly. BBNews hasl ots of missing features that Newsclip has offered. Stick with NewsClip for now.

Hi BBJunkie !

This is interesting. I tried newsclip a few days ago, but haven't seen other features: can you give some examples? Moreover, I find Newsclip quite slow...!

Hi,

The time between a post on a feed and the reception on by BB is very short every time I make a try. I suspect a real technology is used here, but haven't found explanations about that on the website. You're right, it isn't very informative (the french version seems to be an exact translation).

For the browser thing, my trial version (1.0.3) just works fine (correct browser integration when you click on "more info...").

I guess this is a first version, but I saw good things in BBNews and wanted to share it with you. I'm gonna write a mail to their company to ask when a version displaying images will be available...
