The fastest way to release a device from your account is to add a new a new one through the BIS page.

Please do a search for your other question.

You're welcome.

I love how we have open forums to get info and post questions but the only answers you ever get are "do a search". You do have the option of not answering the post if the only thing you are going to say is find the search bar. But there is probably some sort of game between the people who live on the forums to be the first to blast a poster with a search bomb. thanks.

Matthew,

The reason we ask you do to a search is due to the fact that this question is commonly asked. Making another thread about it just clutters the forum and makes more work for users that are actually searching. They then have more threads to sort through to find their answer.

Not only that, but lots of times doing a search will get you the answer you're looking for quicker than typing up your question and waiting for someone to read/answer it. It is beneficial in more than one way. dc/dc was not being rude, just being helpful. He did answer your question as well.

Not as fast as dc/dc's suggestion, but another way would be to call your carrier and have them release the PIN as well. When buying a device from another user, have them do the same thing.

This may help in that case : http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p...Berry_off_eBay
Also, as dc/dc eluded to earlier, give this a read:
Forum Etiquette

Also, I don't speak for anyone else on this on this forum but myself. Having said that, the people that "live" on these forums ARE volunteers. Moderates and users alike. We happen to enjoy helping people. The disrespect is not appreciated or welcomed. A little gratitude or maybe a thanks would be nice.

so to decrease "clutter" people respond to a post with an answer that does not do anything to solve the problem. why is the forum even open to new posts? what goes through a persons mind to go out of their way to post a search remark? trust me everyone knows there is a search feature. but when you search for your topic you find 28.3 threads with people responding "do a search". It is possible not to respond to a post you find unacceptable for the cleanliness of the forums.

Yes, people do know there's a search button. Does that mean they use it? NO! The reason there is a new thread button is to make a thread about something they could not find while searching. So your reasoning for adding to the clutter is because everyone says to search in all the other threads? We answer questions like yours basically daily.

How did dc/dc not answer your question or solve your problem. He gave you a solution. You overlooked his entire post and just seen "please do a search." Did you not see that he gave you an answer prior to asking you to search?

We are not the forum police. Fell free to ask as you wish. I think my colleagues are asking as a courtesy and if I am wrong I hope they correct me.

Another good thing about searching is that enables you to learn similar things you never considered

Both of your question have been answered as shown above. This thread is turning into nothing as a flame war which is proving nothing and adding nothing to the forums.

As Akosnitsky stated, we are only asking out of courtesy.

You'd be surprised.

You are not the first person to be told to do a search when posted - it was not told to you out of rudeness or unwillingness to help, just that this is a common question many people ask. As akosnitzky said, you may find other things along the way that you did not know.

The forum is open to new posts because everyone's input is valuable to the community - which makes the search function just as valuable. I do hope that you found the solution you were looking for.

That said, thread back on topic. The post was not made to debate the value of searching on a forum.

"Fastest" is to transfer the BIS account. Problem is that you need a BB without an associated BIS account for every transfer so it's no practical. The only practical mass solutions I can think of are: 1. to contact the carrier for each one or 2. to have some standing support agreement with RIM.

Lets see how many know where the search button is.

Do you know where the search button is?
