Default Copy SMS from a CSV to a IPD Backup File

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everybody,

I'm new her in this forum and I hope that someone can help me with the following problem:

I got a new Blackberry 8110 und I want to transfer my SMS from a Nokia 6234 to the Blackberry. I looked for some tools, but I didn't find a suitable one.
Now I have exported the messages from to nokia mobile phone into a CSV-FILE. So far so good.

Is there a way to import the SMS from the CSV -Fileto an IPD Backup File and after restore the IPD to the Blackberry?
Or is there another possibility to transfer the SMS from the Nokia mobile to the Blackberry?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Kind Regards,

Wolfgang

I managed to get to this point:
1. Using Nokia PC Suite, I managed to put those SMS to a folder (by dragging those SMS message you can read using Nokia Communication Center to the folder). This result in a *.vmg. So this point I got 2000 .vmg file.
2. Using ABC Amber Nokia Converter, I converted all those .vmg to a single CSV file.

All I need to do is to convert this CSV file (containing SMS messages) to a IPD file, where I can put into my blackberry and let it restore to the SMS folder (sounds easy doesn't it?)

ABC Amber also has a software called ABC Amber CSV2BlackBerry Converter that takes in CONTACT details in CSV and then converts them to IPD. Tried to do this with my data and it didn't work, not the right fields they say.

Bad thing I cannot find a single software that can do that. Scouring the net for an hour, pretty much gave up for now. I know at least 10 guys that wants this feature, many more I'm sure.

Very interesting query. Unfortunately - my suggestion was going to be ABC Amber Tools but I see you are way ahead of the curve.

I have no other solution but found this inquiry very interesting. Gonna have to follow this so I can learn something too.
