I am new to this board. I just started my Blackberry service with Rogers. My company does not have BES installed although we are using Outlook with POP/SMTP mail service. In any case, I was hoping to use the Blackberry Desktop Redirector application to accomplish this. However, after installing it, each time I start it up, the program crashes. Upon sending the error to Microsoft, I get a reply that it is a known problem. Does someone know how to get around this problem?

Desktop Redirector is not supported unless you are using Exchange. You can try running DR with Outlook open (or Desktop Manager open) and see if one of those combinations works.

so you cannot use redirector without having exchange? I thought I read in here that you can use redirector with just plan outlook and a pop3 email? I am getting the same error as this person??

Reinstall and try only Exchange. This was developed for corporate users on a network, not individual users with plain Outlook. I've tried it at home and no luck here either. I'm so glad my company is on BES. Forwards my mail to my BB automatically and I don't deal with these Redirector errors everyone seems to be having MAD issues with. Not to mention you have to keep your computer on all the time!!!

Try TeamON which is lot better that DR. and it works perfectly. I switched from DR to TeamOn. there are other posts on this forum about TeamON.

if you have pop mail then shouldnt you be able to use the webclient? does rogers have this feature available?
