Default Unlocked BB 8100 - travelling to mexico

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, I have an unlocked 8100 that is currently not on any plan (I have a work bb - curve on TELUS CDMA). I am travelling to Mexico in about 6 weeks and I'd like to have a phone to use while I'm there.

What are my options for getting a SIM card for using phone and internet?

someone must have done this before. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Telcel offers prepaid BIS service. That is your only option for prepaid phone AND data with a BlackBerry in Mexico.

Can I just buy one down there, or should I order it in advance? I guess I mean, how accessible are they - in every corner store, or do I have to go to an authorized dealer etc. If ordering is possible I may do that, I don't want to waste part of my vacation hunting for a prepaid sim that may not get much use.

Glancing at their website, I may have to ask one of my spanish-speaking friends for some help ;)

They are very easy to find in most major cities.
