You must have a BB data plan for push email. No way around it.

As for the better device, that is more or less a personal decision. Really depends on your needs and how you use it. Do some research and see which appears to fit your needs.

Just get a Nokia E71 or Sony X1 if you're not going to pay for BIS.

Yes. As dubdub said, the device is a personal choice and you need the berry plan for "push email"

You can use some emails (gmail, yahoo) with a seperate app. However, u won't get BBM and other berry services without the plan

As for the devices:

Bold:
-Bigger than 8900
-ATT/Rogers Branded
-ATT/ Rogers 3G
-2MP Camera

8900:
-Tmo Branded
-No 3G (not even t-mobiles)
- about the size of the 83xx devices
-3.2 MP Cam

Both:
-Wifi and GPS
-OS 4.6
-High Res Screen

I agree, the Blackberry is useless without BIS.

If you want a Nokia E71-2 I have one for sale.

Stick with the 8330 and wait for the 9630, if you ask me!
