I can upgrade my phone this week but still can't decide which BB I want. At first I really wanted the storm because I like the touch screen but I heard there are bugs? So I was going to stick with the curve because I've heard nothing but good things about it but then I saw the Bold and didn't know if that was better than the Curve. I still really like the idea of a touch screen so I'm really torn.

So I wanted to know what others opinions were - what they would buy/have bought and why?

Are you willing to change carrier? What do you do the most with your device?

This is a question that only you can answer. It depends on what features you need, the carrier, how you use it, etc.

The BOLD is the best BB I've ever owned starting back with the 5xxx series. Don't take any BB that doesn't offer Wi-Fi. In Canada, you can save a fortune on your data plan by dropping Carrier based Internet and subscribing to unlimited email/PIM and then using Wi-Fi for Internet.

If you have patience the 9630 should be available in a couple of months for VZW. I am basing this on the various rumors I've read, I should note. Thats what I'm doing!

Nothing wrong with visiting a couple of retail stores and getting "hands on" with these devices-it may help you make a choice.

You will have to change carriers to get some of these (The Bold in particular). Consider that local coverage, billing rates, etc. do vary from carrier to carrier. Do your homework before you take the plunge.

You can't decide which device fits you best by reading opinions. You need to assess which features you need/want and what physical attributes (keyboard, size, weight, etc) matter to you.

Selecting a BB model is a subjective decision. This process applies to everyone and it doesn't matter which model(s) you're considering:

1. Select a carrier based on coverage where you need it. A wireless devices makes for an expensive paperweight if it doesn't have suitable coverage for you.
2. Compare the features of the devices you're looking at.
3. Compare the devices in person to get a feel for them. Most BB users are very particular about keyboard and size.

You can't get any meaningful help from a BB discussion forum site unless you at least post what your needs/wants are. You're only going to get fanboy responses that may or may not be relevant to you.

I'd recommend that you don't fixate on the devices first. Consider your needs/wants first and then you'll have a better approach to finding a suitable model for you.

I just realized today that posting what I wanted out of it would've been helpful. So here it is.

I'm about to enter law school in the fall. I want it most for email and internet access and I'd also like to be able to access my google calendar easily. I don't really use my phones for music and I would like to have a camera but the quality isn't all that important to me.

I've had a terrible phone for the last 2 years. Its terribly slow especially when my inbox and outbox are full. It is important to me that I have a phone I can depend on. Like I said, I will be a poor law student for the next 3 years and won't have the ability to buy a new phone if this one breaks. I would like a phone that allows me to see the thread of the text message instead of having to click back in forth in between my inbox and outbox. The touch screen is attractive to me but I'm concerned that it won't be durable and may end up creating problems in the future.

I've been a curve fan for a long time and I'm not necessarily crazy about switching carriers.

Does this help anyone provide any help? I've done plenty of research on both the curve and the storm but still am not sure which way I want to go which is why I am turning to user opinions.
