Hi. I've got a blackberry 8700g without a blackberry plan. I'm with a carrier that provides standard gsm, gprs and even 3g services - so I'm able to use Gmail, Google maps, and Opera to get on the internet. That goes to say too, that the built in blackberry mail and browser do not work since I'm not subscribed to a blackberry service.

I'm currently looking for alternatives to get email via the built in blackberry mail, and sync contacts/calendar and other stuff. One of the options is to go with blackberry unite!

Will I be able to use blackberry unite via just a gprs data connection?

BlackBerry Unite! Requires a BlackBerry data plan. BlackBerry Unite! is also end-of-sale and end-of-life.

You should subscribe to a BlackBerry device so that your device will function properly.
