Is your BB on a BES?

Wirelessly posted

Have re-sent your service books, done the normal battery pull?

Service books a good idea. I'm pretty sure that when I added the new version of Google Talk, it put a new service on my BB (BBFS1 [GTALKEU1] AES)

Alternatively OP, go into OPTIONS > SECURITY OPTIONS > GENERAL SETTINGS, scroll down to the bottom, look for a GTALK service, get menu and select "Regenerate Encryption Key"

You might need to speak to your BES Admin.
I think your BES is blocking something.

On my 4.1.6 BES, I amended the IT Policy to allow GoogleTalk, and it still didn't work. Had to put myself in the Default policy to make it work. This is something I need to research, it is on the "to do" list... Along with a billion other things.

So in a nutshell:

Try a battery pull
Try resending your service books (do you have BIS email setup on BB)?
Talk to your BES Admin

How do I retrieve the service books ? do i have to erase anything? BIS email setup??? I got a mail yup.... it's a company phone....

The BES Admin isn't blocking anything, it was working fine before I reseted my BB and reactivated it

Do you only have company email on the BB, or do you have company AND personal?

For the "Company" stuff, you need to ask your BES Admin to resend the service books to your device. They should know how to do this.

I've solved this with restoring service books.

I found
  • the right service books on the internet a while ago (service books by ranxoren.ipd).
  • Go into desktop manager and choose advance restore.
  • Select the service books on your pc.
  • If you can't restore service books you need to disable desktop sync, this is something you have to do when you're on BES.
  • I only encountered an additional error, but that one was solved by the BES admin with sending a new policy (something with error 65).

Disabling desktop sync can be done by:
  • Going into the service book section on your blackberry
  • delete sync/desktop or desktop/sync
  • then do the restore with the blackberry desktop manager
  • after that go into service book section on your blackberry and choose the option "undelete", you have your sync/desktop service book back

Of course all at your own risk .

Regards,
Eric
