Default Hidden Fees? KBs transfered?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I recently activated my BB 7750 on a family share plan with Verizon 4 days ago. The family share plan includes 1000 shared minutes between my mom and I along with a $5 a month texting plan. The verizon tech guy added in a pay as you go plan for my BB so I wouldn't have the data. He said I'd be charged .015 cents for every kb transfered. 4 days later I have not touched the browser or e-mail what so ever. The only things I use are SMS and Phone. I bought the device for the PDA and as a bonus the phone with it.

4 days later and I have 26 kb of transfered. I check this often with #DATA and like I said, have NOT touched e-mail or browser. I added it up at about 6.50 kb a day with 30 days a month is 195 kb transfered that I have not done. 195 x .015 is $2.93. I have no idea where these mystery kbs are coming from. I'm getting fairly angry at verizon being they usually have poor customer service and can't help me. Does anyone know of any hidden fees just for having a BB as a phone? I simply don't understand why I have 26 kb in 4 days, that number should be 0 correct?

Thanks for any help.

Call Verizon and get them to disable data completely, so that your phone works completely in a voice-only mode. BlackBerry typically does background data operations (a lot more than other cellphones) that cannot easily be disabled, so you need to put a data block on your account. (I don't know if Verizon allows data blocking, you'll have to find out)

(Note; The 7750 model is the slowest BlackBerry ever released. The 7250 would be much better.)

Alright, I'll call tomorrow about that. Lol yeah I know the 7750 kind of sucks. I got it for $76.02 though. I might try to re-sell it and look into a 7250. Thanks again.
