Outlook alarms don't work on Blackberry? HUH?

Hi all. I'm running the Blackberry OS version 4.0.0.185 on a 7230 I recently bought. I'm using Desktop Manager 4.1.0.8.

I am dismayed to find that the Blackberry does not sound an alarm for appointments that originated in Outlook. I spent at least an hour and a half trying different conditions, and determined only one pattern.

If you set up an appointment with an alarm in Outlook, sync, then disconnect and unplug your Blackberry and wait, the appointed time will come and go and there'll be no alarm from the Blackberry. However, if you do all of that and then open the appointment on the Blackberry and edit it (like changing the time by one minute), the alarm will work.

This appears to be a major defect that ruins the usefulness of this device as a PDA for me, and I would think many others.

Anybody else see this?

Thanks!

Yep, alarms work fine for me. Must be some other configuration type problem.

Check your profiles for "Calendar" for both in and out of holster. Calendar alarms on messages originating in Outlook work fine.

Is your default reminder on the BB set to None?

I don't have that problem. I can create them on BB or in Outlook and both work. If I revise meeting time it also changes and alarms at new time. Has to be a problem in your configuration.
