Cool Three Finger Salute?

Please Login to Remove!

I've heard people use this term before and I assume it is used to reboot the blackberry. How is it done and what is the difference between doing that and just powering down and turning it back on?

press the ALT + CAP + DELETE keys at the same time and from what I understand, it is the same as powering it off and turning it back on.

Do that once and it's a soft reset. Do it a second time immediately after the Blackberry turns back on and it does a hard reset.

Except it does not work on the 7100 series.
The only way to reset a 7100 is to pop out the battery.

Thank you for confirming that, NJ! I just got the 7100i and noticed that the 3 finger salute doesn't work on it.....even though in other forums people have insisted it will work.

They are 100% incorrect.
RIM pulled out a lot of features I liked (shortcuts on the home screen, 3 finger soft boot) on the 7100...

The shortcut I miss is from the Messages app - pressing ALT-P to pull up all of the phone logs. Doing that on the 7100 just gives me outgoing stuff. Now I have to go thru the search screen to find the phone logs (since I keep them 'hidden' behind my messages), which is about 5 wheel clicks more than I want to deal with.
