Please Login to Remove!

Hey, I want to mute all sound but the alarm when I'm sleeping. How can i do this exactly? I don't understand in/out of holster because how does the phone know it's in the holster or not? I use a silicone skin on mine.

Thanks.

Create a new profile or edit the one named SILENT, and edit the ALARM notification only to be turned on.

The BB device is magic, it just knows when it is in a holster or out one... that and a magnet in the leather casing

A rubber or silicon skin does not have the magnet.

There is a magnet in most holsters that the Blackberry senses, allowing it to know whether it's holstered or not.

I use Message Alerts, and set all my alert rules to only be active during certain time of day ranges. I also have a couple people who can reach me anytime. This works for email, phone, and texts.

I don't think the Alarm is covered in a profile. I think its settings are only set in the clock application.

Ah, you are correct. It varied on some older OS versions.

Sorry to make you create the new profile... at least you learned.

SO, just place your phone on SILENT, and set your Alarm.

And test it first to make sure the alarm is not silenced .
