Default Manual selection of network is unavailable

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I used to have a blackberry 8310 which I replaced to BB bold last week.
When I've been in NYC my e-mails stopped, I could send/receive (I have a BES server).
When I investigated this issue I was told by AT&T representitive that they are blocking the option to manually choose the network when roaming.
Did anyone ever heard of that? experienced something like that?
Let me know...
Thanks,
Avi.

Yes, ATT has always done this on their BB devices.

They actually do this on all devices, not just BlackBerry. The policy is derived from the SIM card.

They began doing it after the original purchase of AT&T by Cingular.

The only time the policy is not enforced is when roaming internationally.

That's right, when I roam in France with my at&t 8110, I manually choose my network and it doesn't change.

Sometime it is device specific however. A Roger's att bold can change networks kinda of (switch between 2g/3g) ATT No Option for Edge Only Like on Rogers

That's not the same. Please don't mix topics.

If email stopped then how did you send/receive?
