Default Bold unlocking saga

Hi let me start off by saying i have never unlocked a blackberry before. However i am going travelling and wanted to unlock my new bold. I sent off for an unlock code from a guy on ebay after supplying him with my IMEI. He had 99.7% good feedback as a power seller.

He sent me an unlock code within an hour and a set of very detailed instructions. However the code didnt work and i contacted him again. He then looked for my vendor number. I emailed him this and the he sent me software called bb reader to get more information he says he needs to send to blackberry. I am not saying the guy isnt ligit but i just wanted to see what some more experienced unlockers think. I am concerned about what the software will extract from my blackberry.

Any advice would be welcome.

I would contact the company in my signature. They are a very reputable unlocker. They have discounts for BBF members. The owner is actually and active member here. I would check in with them before going any further with this individual.

Thanks a million for the sugesstion I sent an email to them via their site. I was wondering do you know the owners BBF name so I could contact him via the forum also

Also has anyone heard of this BB reader software ...????
