Question Memory usage overload

Please Login to Remove!

There are some users at my firm that are having problems with memory, with only the previous 4 days emails showing on their blackberries (7730). They have recently upgraded to devices with handheld OS 4.0.0.188 and are on a BES 3.6 Sp3.

Is it just the fact that they now have OS version 4 on their handhelds although they don't get all the new functionality that comes with BES 4.0.

Anyone had similar problems or know of any solutions?

thanks
Jonny

This happens at my firm all the time, esp after the 4.0 upgrade.
If the user does a hard reset, huge amounts of memory are are cleared up.

On the 7730/7750, we remove the following applications to free up memory:
French Language Support
Spanish Language Support
BrickBreaker (yeah, we're that evil)
Help
Password Keeper

We also set Messages > Options > General Options > Keep Messages to '15 days'
Calendar > Options > Keep Appointments to '30 days'

And tell the users to manually clean:
Messages > View Folder > Phone Call Logs
because that can fill up fast, and we haven't figured out a way to automatically purge it, other than having them do it manually

And like anahr mentioned, doing a hard reset every now and then almost always frees up a lot of space. Seems like the longer the device takes to reboot, the more space free you'll end up with. <shrug>
