I have a blackberry from a friend that comes from Centennial.... I want to activated to claro >. can that be possible ??

Yes. They are both GSM networks. But if the device is locked to Centennial, then you will need to get an unlock code to unlock it for use with another carrier.

The one that I have now with claro has two cards...One big one that saids Claro and the other one the memory. This blackberry only has one.

What happens when the one that says "Claro" on it is put into the BlackBerry? Does the memory card fit into the SIM slot?

That is the problem....the blackberry only has one slot for the memory card, nothing else.....the one that I have it's a motorola rokr(this one has for 2 cards...one for the sim and the other for the memory...
could this be a problem ?

The BlackBerry Curve doesn't have a "slot" for the Media Card. It goes into the metal clip under the battery. So if you are only seeing one slot, it likely is for the SIM card. If you aren't seeing any slots, then it's not a GSM Curve.

It is likely that the card that says memory on it is just an expansion card, this is not necessary for the BlackBerry to function as a phone. If the card that has "Claro" written on it fits into the sim slot and the phone is unlocked then its good to go. The memory card would only be necessary should you choose to expand the phone's memory.

The SIM card is bigger and don't fit on the slot of the blackberry.....inside the blackberry there is no more slots. The slot that the blackberry has fit only a memory card...the sim card doesn't fit.

In that case there is nothing you can do as then it appears that it is not a GSM phone.

Underneath the battery is a sticker. Read what the actual model number is. It's in very small print.

Depending on the country in which you live, you may not be able to use this device. The 8330 is a CDMA device, and if you live in one of the countries in which Claro does not offer CDMA service, you will not be able to use it.

Ok. Claro does offer CDMA service in PR, so you will need the MSL of the device (which can normally be found by typing ##000000), and then speak to Claro about programming the device to their network.

Claro should help you. The only difficulty I could see is that they used to be a Verizon Wireless property, and Verizon Wireless does not activate handsets whose ESN/MEID is not in their database as a device they've sold. Hopefully América Móvil didn't carry this policy over when they re-branded as Claro.
