| 8330 just replaced, web works but not getting email-- please help! Please Login to Remove! My (Sprint) 8330 died and was replaced. I used the desktop manager to successfully move most everything (email accounts and all) over the the replacement phone.
I thought I was ready to get my BB in use after that, but internet services were off. After a bit of confusion I managed to get the internet working-- I think it was just that the radio was turned off (thought I don't know why). I'm certain that just before the restore of my old data on the new phone the radio had been on because I was making calls and so forth and I had a charged battery and strong signal.
So now the phone and internet are working, but I have no email, and for some reason the GPS just wanted to replace software version 2.1.01 with the exact same version, saying that newer software was available which also seemed a bit odd though I did allow this. I read and re-read the versions old and new-- they showed to be the same. I don't have enough GPS signal where I am to test that further, but I think it will probably work now. Still, my email has to be addressed-- that's the main reason I have this BB!
When I used the desktop manager to move the data over, I also thought is was supposed to update all the applications to current revisions and that was just early this morning so I really don't get that version update request-- is there a simple way to update everything at once from time to time?
But again, the key issue for now is the email being off-- when I try and email something I see arrows flashing over the 1XEV as usual but the send attempt fails and I get a red "X" next to the mail. I have 5 bars on the signal and the browser is working fine-- this has to be some silly email setting, right? |
