Exclamation Trackball Locks

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8320 Curve that I recently updated to 4.5 firmware. Since Saturday I am seeing a strange problem with my track ball and the backlight/keyboard lights.

When I power it up, I can use the trackball fine, move through the icons OK, but if the keyboard lights come on, i lose my trackball. If I let the unit sit for a while and then pick it up, the trackball will work fine for a while until the keyboard lights up full, then the track ball does not function again. And now I have notices that there is a low glow from the keyboard even if it is not powered up. I haven't taken it apart to check it out but I do not hear any rattles or broken parts inside the unit. I've read about a possible moisture problem with these and am going to try to dry it out. I'm wondering if there is a physicall problem, like busted board or crossed wire or something like that, or if there is a problem in the firmware/OS on these or if I downloaded maybe a virus or something. Anyone else seen this and maybe know of a fix? If not, is there a reputable, and fast, repair place to send these to?

Thanks,
Brian
