Branko,

I am having the same MSN Messenger problem as ptzchris was.

I am using a BlackBerry 7105T from T-Mobile. In brief when I attempt to connect to MSN Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger the program attempts to load but only gets to 20% done before saying "Communication error. Please try again or check your settings".

I originally posted my question in the BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community > BlackBerry General Forums > General 7100 Series Discussion MSN Messenger on 7100T forum.

In this forum I followed the steps provided by fudgey65, which look the same as what you describe. However, here is my reply to fudgey65 because I am still having problems.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
treaders

----
My reply to fudgey65:

"fudgey65

I just followed your steps and encountered the same "20%" and "communication error" messages that I described above. A question, when you say "3. Under settings go to the "applications" and delete it" I assume you mean delete the IM application only?

All I deleted was "T-Mobile USA IM Client Application" from the Service Book and the the IM application from "Applications".

All the steps appeared to have worked, e.g. I found the bolded "T-Mobile USA" in the host routing table and registered, I saw the egg timer etc.. except that when I then re-started MSN Messenger it did not ask me to accept any terms and conditions like it did the very first time I attempted to use MSN Messenger (like you mentioned).

Any other suggestions?

Really appreciate your help.

Regards,
treaders

My original post in BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community > BlackBerry General Forums > General 7100 Series Discussion MSN Messenger on 7100T forum is copied below.

"Hello,

I have a 7105T from T-Mobile and I have not been able to log into MSN Messenger using the IM Application that was installed on my BlackBerry 7105T when I received it. I have an existing MSN Messenger account.

When I click MSN Messenger the program attempts to load but only gets to 20% done before saying "Communication error. Please try again or check your settings".

The 2 green men spin around on the screen but nothing else happens.

However, whilst the 2 green men are spinning around, I receive a text/SMS message from "4705" that contains what appears to be programming language. The exact contents of the text message are:

WV11RL381ST=(200,"Successful") SI=KFZ2ETPYka=50001

Later on, I receive a similar text/SMS message telling me that I have signed out.

Any ideas on how I go from 20% loading to actually accessing MSN Messenger from my Mobile device? Anybody else experienced this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Ben"

Okay this is weird. my 7100t came in and i transfered myself over on to it. i thought about it and set my wife up on my 7320. i didn't give her email or internet just the phone to see if it worked for her. Guess what? no problems. none. So i got her the whole package - email, internet etc. no problems and she's hooked. a new crackberry addict is born. she feel asleep with it last night surfing the net. i just don't know what the reboot problem was. maybe it just didn't like me.

I am based in the UK, and have a BB7290, on a T-mobile data only contract (17 pm). I have an exchange server and BES 4.0 server, but am unable to activate the BB using my own BES due to 'limitations' of the data only contract.

I have been quoted a price of 52 pm to have the device provisioned for BES - do you think that this is a realistic price, or is there a better option?

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Burgerking

Default T-mobile BB Email Parsing Errors

Here's a major problem that I and a number of other people are having with t-mobile BB service. I'm cross-posting from an earlier post in this forum:

I have a t-mobile 7105t that I have been using successfully with my Outlook Web Access email account for about a month. Beginning last week, about 80 percent of my email began giving the error "Error in parsing this message. Couldn't display the body part!!!" on the handheld.

I contacted t-mobile support, and was eventually referred on to RIM support, which sent numerous test messages in different formats to my account. We found that only pure text email made it through successfully, and that all RTF and HTML email gave the above error on the handheld - all messages are fine in Outlook.

RIM was supposed to work on this and call me back the next day. It's now a week later, and there's been no word from RIM. Am I the only one having such problems?

Note that I manage the Microsoft Exchange server that OWA is running on, and no software changes have occurred on the system between the time email worked fine and when it quit.

Thanks for any enlightenment you can provide.

Guys, he hasn't posted here in 2 weeks. Let's get real and understand that his posting this thread was most likely not all that great of an idea, and he likely found that out the hard way. Call T-Mobile's support lines if you have questions that can't be answered. While I admire his willingness to help, its most likely the actions of a newly employed person with some BlackBerry training specific to T-Mobile's network... the new employees tend to be the enthusiastic ones.

Hi Branko,

I have called T-Mobile support a couple of times since I've had my 7105t. The hold times were acceptable and you all were very helpful each time. I specifically have spoken with Muhammad twice, and he did a great job in getting me through some strange service book issues I was having.

Currently, I'm having an issue with wireless reconcile using Redirector. I am not sure if it is a T-Mobile issue, so I asked here first. If you have a moment, this is the thread:

Default Dial-through with 7230

I am trying to find out if Tmobile has enabled dial-through from 7230 (i.e. is there a software upgrade available anywhere). I've read it might work with the new OS 4.1, but have no more info.

Thanks

Default Multiple sent from addresses on 7230

Hi!
I have been a T-Mobile Blackberry customer for years. I am now using a 7230 model. I noticed that on the new Blackberries, like the 8700 series and the 7100t you can designate up to 10 different "sent from addresses." Can I do this on my 7230 as well (perhaps with a new software download?)? Or, must I buy a new model? I went into T-Mobile today and all three sales representatives (plus one co-worker who they called at home) did not know the answer. In fact, they thought that you HAD to reply from a blackberry email address.
Please advise.
Thank you very much!

Branko, I have come across an issue where in I would send an email to Person A with B, C, D in the CC field. One of the recepients replies from their bb, once the message is read in Lotus Notes, it shows the original message, the TO field, but the CC field only has 1 person in it...It strips out the other people in the CC field...

BlackBerry Server 4.0 SP3HF1
Domino 6.5.4
Lotus Notes 6.5.1 / 6.5.4
BlackBerry Handheld 4.0 and 4.0.2.32 from T-Mobile.

I can send you screen shots if you would like, please email me at [email address]

ok... i have been trying to resolve one issue with tmobile for the past 2 months... the ticket has been closed on its own twice... getting through to there support is harder than getting into a store for a black friday sale...

in the last few weeks, tmobile has just gone down the drain... i am about to switch over to some other provider - probably sprint/nextel.

kunal

PS: I am business and personal user with tmobile.
