I am new to Blackberry a long time treo user. All of our 5000+ contacts use the extension feature for all of their numbers. So far the Blackberry has presented a fiable solution for our communication needs until the following short coming has appeared.

When using a pause, wait, or x after a 10 digit phone number to preface an extension the contacts name does not appear when they call only their phone number appears on the screen.

I have called tier II support twice with no apparent solution available.

Does anyone know of a work around to get the contacts name to appear when using extensions?

I doubt you will ever find a solution for this. The problem isn't the BlackBerry. The phone system transmit only the 10 digit phone number for caller.

Palm Treo 700P has no problem with it.
All blackberry has to do is ignore any more than 10 digits.
Hopefully there is a work around someone knows.
