Default delete prior vs wipe

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone tell me the difference between doing a "wipe" and a "delete prior" (if I select to delete prior to today). And in each case, when I perform that action will it delete the messages from my Outlook the same as if I deleted just one individual message on the BB(which I know will delete it from my Outlook using wireless reconciliation). I want to "delete prior" all the messages but don't want that action to delete the messages from Outlook -- basically I want to clean up my BB.

Default

Wipe --> will delete EVERYTHING from your BB and it will bring the state as factory default.
Delete Prior is going to delete the specific items that you are in.
Basically if you want to clean up your BB and start all over again then you can wipe it out BUT BUT be sure to take a backup in case you need these items in future.
Remember once you take backup of the BB thne you can restore data for for add book, messages, tasks, memo INDIVIDUALLY and don't have to load everything

Lightbulb Delete Prior is my friend

Selecting a Day and saying "delete prior" will not delete the items from Outlook. I use this feature alllllll the time as I like to keep my BB inbox clean. However, highlighting all of the mail and choosing 'delete' will. If you're scared about losing some, you could always set up your Email Reconciliation options to: "Delete On: Prompt". This will ask you if you want to delete On mailbox and handheld or just on the handheld. Again, this does not apply to delete prior.
